Meet Jacksonville Counselor Alina Kodatt
I have always loved listening to stories, and I feel so very grateful that it is my job as a Jacksonville counselor to listen to people tell THEIR story. I am Cuban-American, and having grown up in a cross-cultural home, I am drawn to people of all nationalities. I opened my private practice in 2012. I also have experience in community mental health agencies and school settings.
I believe deeply in the dignity of every human being. So often in life, however, that dignity is damaged by hurtful relationships, distorted thoughts, poor choices (ours or someone else’s), chemical imbalance, and loss. And yet I believe there is incredible hope that through telling one’s story to another human being, joy and health can be restored. My years of counseling training and experience have led me to believe wholeheartedly in the power of a therapeutic relationship to bring hope and peace into a person’s life. Together we learn to listen without judgement, discern unhealthy patterns, take risks to try new ways of thinking and behaving, and discuss healthy coping strategies so clients achieve hope and peace. Believe me when I say, I want to hear YOUR story.
